Bio

Zahra Patterson is the author of Chronology (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2018), recipient of a Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Memoir/Biography and a Face Out Fellowship from the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses. Upon completion of Play Penn’s Foundry Fellowship (2022-25), their play Loopholes (formerly Talking to Og) received a development process and staged reading. Their work can be found in Wasafiri Magazine, The Yale Review, Belladonna* chaplet series, Montez Press Radio, and elsewhere. She’s been supported by Mount Tremper Arts, Brooklyn Arts Council, The Pratt Center, Wendy’s Subway, and many wonderful individuals. They currently work at The Miami Valley School. She holds an MFA in Writing from Pratt Institute and a BA from the University at Albany, SUNY.
